I actually thought Midsommar or Cabin in the Woods would be on this list…
I really struggled to listen to this writing; it's like the weird kid from 9th grade English class dumped a thesaurus, a rhyming dictionary, and some mad libs into a blender. I think I'm done seeing how many combinations of the same movies and different metaphors WhatCulture can jam into a new list.
Just watching this video makes me super uncomfortable!

The only vacation this summer I had was a trip to a waterpark and of course it made me think of Piranha 3DD.

You did not seriously have Cabin Fever & Open Water on a list of "terrifying" movies!? 😒😂🤣 Why not add The Blair Witch Project to that list while you're at it? 🙄 I agree with these lists a majority of the time, but CF & OW are 2 of the lamest, most boring "horror" movies of all time. 💯

I feel like the most routinely mundane and completely likely horror vacation experience is bedbugs and bringing them home with you. It can happen even if you're going to the safest and supposedly cleanest places. It can happen if you're rich or poor, careful or not.
There are no "dusty deserts of Central USA." Deserts are found in the Southwestern US, which was not the setting of the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre".
