Taking the new video plane out for a spin…

This plane started out life as the WIRCS model club pylon racer and had been hanging from the ceiling for about a year until it became essential to test out the small 300mw 1280mhz video transmitter with the new 13db gain Yagi receiver antenna. Also using the 8dbi patch antenna on the micro diversity module, found the Yagi was in use for most of the flight. My kids were a great help to spot for me and haul gear out to the launch site.

The first launch was like taming a bucking bronco but once the way too much up trim condition was corrected for, it was time to explore the rest of the prairie. I discovered very few problems with the received video and am tempted to go out further. The only possible problem there is comes from using the Spektrum 6 park flyier radio system and not knowing how much farther the radio will stay locked in, maybe time to give it a try anyway.
