Groundbreaking has taken place on the web site of former sheltered housing scheme as a part of model new redevelopment.
Native agency Rose builders has been appointed by Tendring District Council (TDC) to create 13 single-storey senior residing properties at Honeycroft in Lawford.
The earlier sheltered housing scheme was closed by the council in 2018, demolished in 2021, and preparatory web site works started final 12 months.
TDC has allotted £3.25million for the scheme, which might be constructed to high environmental requirements – incorporating carbon discount, energy-saving measures and energy-efficiency requirements – and designed to the ideas of the previous lifetime properties commonplace that means residents can stay of their group as their bodily wants change.
In addition to the brand new properties, the location will even have a small group constructing, landscaping and automotive parking.
Justyn French, Business Director for Housing for Rose, mentioned: “We’re excited to be working with TDC on this mission, the proposed growth will present specialist accessible properties that mirror the previous use of the location and addressing the urgent housing demand within the district.”
Councillor Peter Kotz, TDC Cupboard Member for Belongings, mentioned: “I’m happy with the appointment of Rose, who’ve a superb monitor report and are a well-established native agency; this growth is an revolutionary scheme which is able to assist present properties for individuals inside our district on a brownfield web site.”
