Kim Kardashian argues the Menendez brothers must be freed

Kim Kardashian has proven her assist for the Menendez brothers — the latest topics of Ryan Murphy’s “Monsters” series — because the Los Angeles district lawyer introduced the workplace is reviewing the case over 20 years later.
In a private essay published by NBC News Thursday, the Skims founder advocated on behalf of Erik and Lyle Menendez, saying she believes the brothers “usually are not monsters” and hopes their “life sentences are reconsidered.”
In her letter, Kardashian, who handed the “child bar” in 2021, stated she believes the brothers “had been condemned earlier than [their] trial even started” because of the media consideration surrounding the crime.
Erik and Lyle had been convicted in 1996 for the 1989 murders of their dad and mom, Kitty and Jose Menendez, of their Beverly Hills, Calif., residence. They had been sentenced to life with out the opportunity of parole after two trials. The brothers had been 19 and 21 on the time of the murders.
“Erik and Lyle’s case turned leisure for the nation, their struggling and tales of abuse ridiculed in skits on ‘Saturday Evening Dwell,’” Kardashian wrote, noting that she felt the brothers dedicated the crime out of self-defense after “years of abuse and an actual worry for his or her lives.”
“The media turned the brothers into monsters and sensationalized eye sweet — two smug, wealthy children from Beverly Hills who killed their dad and mom out of greed. There was no room for empathy, not to mention sympathy.”
She went on to explain Erik and Lyle as “form, clever, and trustworthy males” as she argued that the brothers’ declare of sexual abuse by the hands of their dad and mom would have been taken extra severely had they been ladies since “public consciousness of the trauma of male sexual abuse was minimal [at the time].”
“In jail, they each have exemplary disciplinary information,” she continued, noting their a number of faculty levels and their work as caregivers.
“We owe it to these little boys who misplaced their childhoods, who by no means had an opportunity to be heard, helped, or saved.”
“I don’t imagine that spending their total pure lives incarcerated was the best punishment for this complicated case,” Kardashian added, noting that she feels the end result of their trials could be “dramatically completely different” in the event that they had been tried in the present day.
LA District Lawyer George Gascón introduced on Thursday the brothers’ trial could be reviewed, saying the workplace has a “ethical and moral obligation to evaluate what’s being introduced to us.”
Although Gascòn didn’t share what components of the case could be underneath evaluate, according to the New York Times, his feedback insinuated that the workplace could be wanting into the sexual abuse claims.
